As a Lead Painter, you will play a crucial role in the production process by applying paint to various substrates following detailed production artworks and drawings. Your responsibilities will include setting up and preparing all parts and components for painting in a safe and efficient manner. You will need to inspect products for imperfections, perform minor bodywork as needed before painting, and retrieve paint color formulas while ensuring accurate mixing. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing products for undercoat/primer applications and applying quality topcoats to meet company and client quality standards. Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, including spray booths, mixing areas, and staging areas, is essential. It is also important to maintain department equipment, color formulas, and project records electronically. Other responsibilities include applying paint masks, tapes for multi-color paint applications, following company procedures, maintaining inventory of consumable products, limiting waste, and being open to cross-training in other departments. You should be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers, have basic computer skills, work efficiently to meet project deadlines, lift at least 50lbs, and have dependable transportation to work.
